The region

The riverside village of Pedrógão do Alentejo is next to the Guadiana and the Barragem do Pedrógão,

and is part of the Grande Lago do Alqueva complex integrated in the Guadiana hydrographic basin.

In the vicinity of the region there are also lands of great history of the Iberian Neolithic, (Alandroal) Roman and Arab tradition (Évora, Beja, Serpa, Mértola) of medieval monasteries and churches, and memory of the great Navigator of the 15th century, Vasco da Gama.
